A vital component of the LAFF are Master Classes; seminars, panels and roundtables by successful directors, producers, writers, agents, managers, distributors and other industry professionals covering a subjects of interest to students, film enthusiasts and people working in the entertainment business.


The Filmmaker Meet & Greet is a unique opportunity for festival attendees, filmmakers and VIPs to meet informally. Appetizers are served and there is a cash bar. Ernie Hudson hosts this event, introducing the filmmakers and providing them the opportunity to introduce their work. Don’t miss this chance to mingle and socialize with the creators of the films being showcased at the festival.


The LAFF Opening Night Film is must see cinema. This feature presentation sets the stage for the rest of the festival. The selected movie is introduced by Vincent Spano and is followed by a Q&A panel with the cast and crew. The Opening Night film is a premiere experience and highly anticipated event.


The festival presents an outdoor screening event that is totally unique. Attendees enjoy a film “al fresco” on the resort lawn. Relax lakeside and be entertained under the star filled night sky!


The LAFF Gala is a fabulous party that includes dinner and entertainment. There is a silent auction featuring a treasure trove of experiences and merchandise. The soiree includes dinner with a cash bar, and the entertainment is always top drawer. Gloria Loring MCs the festivities as VIPs and celebrities present special awards to honorees for their body of work and community service.


The heart of the LAFF experience are the Screenings. Attendees should make reservations to insure they can be seated, but walk-ins are accommodated as space allows. Each Screening block is composed of carefully curated shorts and feature films. Most screenings are followed by a Q&A session with the filmmakers, cast and crew to discuss the project and field audience questions about their work. All screening attendees are also encouraged to cast their votes for the LAFF Audience Award category.


Chris McDonald is the MC for the LAFF Awards Luncheon where Filmmakers receive the Juried Award in each category. A buffet luncheon is served, and a cash bar is available. Celebrity hosts present trophies to the winners and recipients give acceptance speeches.


There will be Vendor tables and exhibits at the LAFF featuring local businesses and recreational activities as well as representatives from companies providing goods, services and new technologies for filmmakers.
